States step up for Stem Cells after Presidential Veto

California (headed by Gov. Schwarzenegger, a Republican) has chipped in $150 million for grants for stem cell scientists, Illinois has promised $5 million for the same in their state. Individual state support of stem cell research has become a huge political issue in many of the upcoming elections due to the President's veto.
